Pune, 27th October 2025: The controversy surrounding the sale of the land belonging to Sheth Hirachand Nemchand Jain Digambar Boarding (popularly known as Jain Boarding) in Pune’s Model Colony continues to intensify. Although developer Vishal Gokhale has decided to cancel the purchase deal, Acharya Shri Gupti Nandiji Maharaj has said the community’s protest will not end until the entire transaction is completely nullified.

Speaking at a press conference held at Jain Boarding, Acharya Shri Gupti Nandiji Maharaj said, “We have received information that Gokhale Builder, who bought this land, has cancelled the transaction by sending an email. This is a welcome step, but it is not the end. The trustee is the main culprit in this entire case. Our fight will continue until the entire sale transaction is cancelled.”

The Acharya further said that their movement is not against the government but against “corruption, oppression, exploitation, and injustice.” He added, “MP Muralidhar Mohol met me personally, understood the sentiments of the Jain community, and assured that he stands with us. Following his intervention, Gokhale Builder took this step. But we will not stop until justice is done.”

A nationwide aarti will be performed tomorrow to seek divine blessings for saving the Jain Boarding, and a countrywide protest is planned for October 29. A crucial hearing on the matter will take place at the Charity Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday.

Acharya Shri Gupti Nandiji Maharaj also announced that if the decision is not withdrawn by November 1, he will intensify the protest.
