Elderly Woman with Dementia Missing from Pune; Family Appeals for Public Help

Pune, 27th October 2025: An 86-year-old woman, identified as Ujwala (Vasanti) Phadke, has been missing from Pune since Thursday, October 23, 2025. She was last seen at Pune Railway Station around 11 a.m. that day and is believed to have boarded an unknown train.

Phadke, who suffers from dementia, was captured on CCTV footage near Platform Nos. 2 and 3. However, it remains unclear which train she boarded.

“She could have taken a train towards Mumbai, Gujarat via Vasai, Kolhapur, Solapur, or even Miraj. We are requesting people from Maharashtra and neighbouring states to help us locate her,” said Dr. Rahul Joshi, her nephew.

A missing person’s report has been registered at Chatushringi Police Station, and a large-scale search operation is underway with assistance from the Pune Police, Railway Police, Mumbai Police, and the Director General’s Office.

Family members have expressed gratitude to the police officers and IPS officials who have extended support in the search efforts. They are now appealing to the public to share this information widely across social media and WhatsApp groups to help trace Phadke.
