Pune, 18th October 2025: In a city where poetry continues to nurture hearts and bridge communities, Pune is set to witness yet another celebration of words and emotions. KavitaKAFE, a vibrant collective, returns with Udaan—an open mic poetry event—on November 2nd at Monalisa Kalagram, Koregaon Park, Pune.

Udaan aims to be an evocative evening, merging soulful verses with the uplifting theme of finding one’s wings through poetic expression. The event, open to performers and poetry listeners alike, will run from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Founded by journalist-turned-poet Garima Mishra, KavitaKAFE has become a cornerstone for Hindi poetry in Pune, with Monalisa Kalagram providing the perfect ambience for artistic exchange. Over the past year, this partnership has delivered memorable gatherings such as Baatcheet, Aarambh, Sandesa, Kavya-Katha, etc. These sessions have welcomed poets from all walks of life—engineers, doctors, theatre artists, and storytellers—affirming that poetry breaks barriers and unites generations.

Mishra reflects, “Each session aims to cultivate a safe, expressive space where poetry can be a medium for healing, joy, and cultural connection. Monalisa Kalagram’s support transforms these gatherings into authentic community experiences, blending creativity with emotional resonance.”

Beyond the stage, KavitaKAFE has been dedicated to outreach—organizing charity sessions at institutions like Vrindavan Old-Age Home, Cipla Palliative Care, and Poona School for the Blind under the banner “Healing Verses”. These events offered poetry and music therapy to seniors, patients, and visually challenged students, bringing smiles and solace through the spoken word. Participant feedback has consistently echoed gratitude for the platform’s warmth and its encouragement of new artistic voices.

The upcoming Udaan event will feature performances by Manas Nikhil, Surbhi Jain, Keshava Shukla, Asha Singh Gaur, Devv, Neha Joshi, Shivam Dubey, Siddharth Misra, Aadikavee, Ravi Acharya, Gayatri, Subodh Mutha, Harsh Shukla, Shahbaaz Khan, and Zeeshan Khan. Each will share original works reflecting the spirit of “poetry as flight”—lifting hearts, nurturing empathy, and discovering inner freedom. The evening will also include soulful renditions of timeless Bollywood melodies by Pune-based singer Anupam Banerjee, evoking nostalgia and adding a melodious charm to the celebration of poetry.
