Pune: Global Indian International School to Open Third Campus in Charholi
Lohgaon, 28th October 2025: Global Indian International School (GIIS) is expanding its footprint in Pune with the launch of a new campus in Charholi, marking the institution’s third centre in the city. The upcoming campus has already recorded over 1,000 student admissions during its pre-launch phase, highlighting the growing demand for global-standard K-12 education in one of Pune’s fastest-developing areas.
The new Charholi campus will introduce a blend of British pedagogy and CBSE curriculum, supported by modern infrastructure and technology-enabled learning spaces. GIIS currently operates two successful campuses in Balewadi and Hadapsar, which have established a reputation for academic excellence and holistic education.
Speaking about the expansion, Atul Temurnikar, Chairman and Co-founder of Global Schools Group, said the new campus reflects the trust parents have placed in the GIIS model. “Our goal is not just to add more schools but to redefine the learning experience. The Charholi campus will integrate innovation, digital learning, and global teaching practices to prepare students for leadership in a changing world,” he said.
Spread across 4.7 acres, the new facility is scheduled to open for the 2026–27 academic year. The campus will follow the CBSE curriculum enhanced with inquiry-based learning, digital literacy programmes, and the school’s signature 9GEMS framework, which promotes balanced development across academics, sports, innovation, leadership, and community engagement.
The design of the Charholi campus also focuses on student well-being, with wellness rooms, collaborative learning zones, and dedicated spaces for sports and performing arts. “We want every learner to experience the Joy of Learning through a well-rounded, inclusive environment that nurtures talent and curiosity,” Temurnikar added.
GIIS Charholi is part of the Singapore-headquartered Global Schools Group (GSG), which operates 64 campuses across 11 countries including Japan, Malaysia, the UAE, and the UK. The group’s network encourages student interaction across borders through exchange programmes and global competitions, aiming to build both academic proficiency and international exposure.
According to Rajeev Koul, Deputy COO of Global Schools Group, the strong pre-launch admissions demonstrate Pune’s appetite for quality global education. “Charholi is an emerging hub for young families, and we are thrilled by the response. This campus represents our vision to make world-class education accessible to every learner,” he said.
Admissions for the 2026–27 academic year are open from Pre-Nursery to Grade 7, with classes beginning in April 2026.
Founded in 2002 in Singapore, GIIS offers a range of international and Indian curricula, including IB, IGCSE, and CBSE. The network’s schools have received more than 650 awards globally and continue to be recognised for academic outcomes and innovation in education.
