Day 2 of the Ustad Bale Khan Music Festival began with the performance by Kirana Gharana Vocalist Pt. Sudhakar Chavan
Pune, 20th June 2026: The second day of the prestigious Sitar Nawaz Ustad Bale Khan Sangeet Mahotsav 2026, organized by the Suhana Basant Foundation in association with Kannada Sangha Pune and supported by FTII pune as venue partner, witnessed a tremendous response from music enthusiasts at the New Auditorium of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.
On day 2, the festival featured a vocal recital by noted Kirana Gharana vocalist Pt. Sudhakar Chavan. He performed a Vilambit bandish, “Madhuban main sham ne murli bajai” in Raag Maduvanti, followed by bandish in Drut Teen taal “Main aaoon tore mandaravaa” concluding performance by a marathi bhajan.
He was accompanied by Rushikesh Jagtap (Tabla) and Gangadhar Shinde (Harmonium).

This was followed by a Santoor recital by Pt. Abhay Rustum Sopori, performing Aalap,rendering most exceptionally some of minds, gamakas, jod and gat in Raag Kaushik Ranjani, Vilambit Jhaptaal, “sun re sanjnva mori” a composition in ektaal and concluded with drut teentaal.
He was accompanied by Pt. Ramdas Palsule (Tabla).
The day concluded with a vocal performance by Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar. He began with Raag Tilak Kamod.
He was accompanied by Bharat Kamat (Tabla) and Suyog Kundalkar (Harmonium).

On the last day, 21st July, Sunday’s morning session will begin with a vocal recital by Ustad Arshad Ali Khan, followed by a vocal–flute jugalbandi featuring Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi and Pt. Praveen Godkhindi. The evening session will present a Sarod–Sitar duet by Abhishek Borkar and Mohasin Khan, followed by performances by Vidushi Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar and Padma Shri awardee Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, bringing the festival to a grand close.
