Pune Accidents: Pedestrian and Senior Citizen Killed in Two Separate Road Mishaps
Pune, 29th October 2025: Two people, including a senior citizen, lost their lives in separate road accidents reported in different parts of the city.
The first incident took place on October 22 around 4 p.m. in the Lonikand area on Nagar Road, where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a speeding car while crossing the road.
The deceased has been identified as Toyabahaddar Kinbahaddar Thapa (48), a resident of Lonikand who worked at a local hotel.
According to police, Thapa was crossing the road near Chandrama Hotel when a car, allegedly speeding, hit him. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. The car driver fled the scene after the crash. A case has been registered against the unidentified motorist, and Assistant Police Inspector Vijaya Vanjari is leading the investigation.
In another tragic incident, a 73-year-old man died after being hit by a tempo on DSK Vishva Road. The deceased has been identified as Suresh Ganpat Landge, a resident of Kendre Complex, opposite Kaka Chavan School in Dhayari.
Police said the accident occurred on September 30 around noon, when Landge was doing gardening work near the Ganpati temple on DSK Vishva Society Road. A speeding tempo allegedly hit him while he was standing on the roadside. Landge sustained grievous injuries and later succumbed to them during treatment.
Following a complaint filed by his daughter, a case has been registered against the tempo driver at Nanded City Police Station. The investigation is being carried out by Police Constable S.K. Bhapkar.
