No Action Even After 13 Days: Pune Jain Community Slams Maharashtra Govt Over HND Jain Boarding Land Sale
Pune, 12th November 2025: Jain monk Acharya Guptinandi Ji Maharaj has warned that the community will intensify its agitation — including launching a hunger strike outside the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s residence in Mumbai — if the controversial sale deed of the HND Jain Boarding land in Model Colony is not cancelled within the next two days.
Addressing the media on Tuesday (November 11), Maharaj said that despite clear directives from the Charity Commissioner to revoke the land sale and power of attorney, no concrete action has been taken even after 13 days. “This inaction amounts to disrespecting the Charity Commissioner’s order and dishonouring the state government itself,” he said, urging Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to intervene immediately to resolve the matter and ensure justice for the Jain community.
The dispute concerns the sale of land owned by the Jain Boarding Trust in Model Colony to Pune-based Gokhale Builders. The Jain community had earlier opposed the transaction and filed a complaint with the State Charity Commissioner in Mumbai. Following a hearing on October 30, Charity Commissioner Amogh Kaloti ordered that the sale deed and power of attorney be cancelled and the property restored in the trust’s name. The order also directed the trust to return the sale proceeds to the builder after deducting TDS.
However, despite both the trust and the builder submitting a joint affidavit agreeing to the cancellation, the directive has not yet been implemented. While a petition for cancellation has been filed in the civil court, the process has stalled without any tangible progress.
Maharaj also expressed concern over alleged encroachments on land donated to the Jain community in Ahilyanagar by land mafias. He further demanded that, under the guise of city beautification, no action should be taken against Jain temples located in Delhi, Pandharpur, and Indore.
