Shivajinagar, 15th November 2025: The Civil Court on Friday (14 November) ordered the cancellation of the controversial sale of three acres of land belonging to Sheth Hirachand Nemchand Digambar (HND) Jain Boarding in Model Colony. With this order, the land purchase deed between the trust and developer Gokhale Landmarks LLP now stands legally null and void.

The Charity Commissioner had earlier approved the sale on April 4, triggering strong opposition from the Jain community. The Jain Boarding Bachao Kriti Samiti, led by Acharya Guptinand Maharaj, launched an intense agitation demanding the reversal of the transaction.

Amid growing pressure, Gokhale Landmarks voluntarily withdrew from the deal. Subsequently, the trust and the developer filed a joint affidavit before the Charity Commissioner, stating they had no objection to cancelling the transaction. The Commissioner then revoked the earlier approval and directed the parties to complete the legal formalities required to cancel the purchase agreement.

Following this directive, the trust and the Gokhale builder approached the Civil Court seeking cancellation of the sale deed. Civil Judge N. R. Gajbhiye has now issued an order canceling the purchase agreement, advocate Yogesh Pandey said.

During the proceedings, Adv. Ishan Kolhatkar represented the trust, Adv. Nischal Anand appeared for the developer company, while Adv. Anil Patni, Adv. Sukaushal Jinturkar, Adv. Yogesh Pande, and Adv. Ashish Patni represented the Jain Boarding Rescue Action Committee.
