Released under an early-access program, the new app lets users try advanced features and submit feedback ahead of its official public launch.

UIDAI showcased the app through a post on X, describing it as a “reimagined Aadhaar experience” built to offer stronger privacy controls, simplified digital verification, and complete freedom from physical documents.

Key Features of the New Aadhaar App
Seamless Digital Sharing
Users can now share Aadhaar details through QR codes or digitally verifiable credentials—eliminating the need for photocopies.

Masked Aadhaar for Privacy
The app enables sharing a masked version of Aadhaar that conceals the complete 12-digit number.

Support for Multiple Profiles
Up to five Aadhaar profiles can be added on one device, ideal for family members using the same registered mobile number.

Biometric Locking
Fingerprints and iris data can be locked or unlocked directly from the app, giving users real-time protection of their biometric identity.

How to Download and Set Up
The early-access version is currently available on major app stores:
Android: tinyurl.com/5hex3yay
iOS: tinyurl.com/2r43hdnr

Setup steps include selecting a preferred language, entering the Aadhaar number, verifying via OTP, completing facial or biometric authentication, adding the profile, and creating a secure six-digit PIN.

Once configured, the app allows users to view Aadhaar details, generate QR codes, manage biometric locks, and securely share identity information.

UIDAI Invites User Feedback
During the early-access phase, UIDAI is encouraging users to share suggestions at [email protected], emphasizing the importance of user insights in shaping a more secure and user-controlled digital ID experience.
