Pune, 15th November 2025: While winter chill is knocking the door the environment at the Kharadi campus of Dhole Patil Education Society witnessed the rise in the temperature and energies resulting in the creation of an all new Guinness World Records achievement for ‘Largest Audience at a Campfire storytelling’.

4,623 individuals including the students and their parents participated to set a new Guinness World Records feat while listening to the historical stories about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj alongside the specially created campfire at the record attempt venue.

Pravin Patel, a Senior Guinness World Records adjudicator from London who came to Pune to adjudicate this record attempt, handed over the official Guinness World Records certificate of setting up a new record as mentioned above to Mr. Sagar Dhole Patil, Chairman of the Dhole Patil Education Society after the successful attempt.

Speaking on the occasion, Sagar Dhole Patil said, “Few months back, 12 forts related to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj under the collective name of ‘Maratha Military Landscape’ were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The idea to have campfire storytelling was conceived to take this matter of pride closer to the students through an interesting yet a traditional format of storytelling.”

“Campfire storytelling is pretty common and famous amongst the Trekkers world over. Thus, in a bid to reach out the audiences across the globe about this development related to Shivaji Maharaj’s forts, we decided to attempt an all-new Guinness World Records title and I am happy to inform you that we successfully achieved the desired outcome”, he added.

During this Guinness World Records attempt, noted filmmaker Digpal Lanjekar narrated stories of the bravery and intelligence of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj related to these 12 forts, which got the UNESCO World Heritage Status.

This is the 3rd successful Guinness World Records achievement by Dhole Patil Education Society within a short span of about 6 months. The previous records include most prosthetic limbs fitted in 8 hours and most people performing diya rotations (Aarti) simultaneously during the recently held Ganesh Festival.
