Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi Visits Pune NCC Group Headquarters, Reviews Republic Day Camp 2026 Preparations
Shivajinagar, 20th November 2025: Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General of the Maharashtra Directorate, National Cadet Corps (NCC), visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Pune to inspect preparations for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 and interact with cadets, officers, and staff.
During the visit, Col Vineet Midha, Officiating Group Commander, briefed Maj Gen Tyagi on the selection process, training methodology, and overall preparation strategy designed to groom cadets for the upcoming camp. The General Officer expressed satisfaction with the systematic approach and high standards maintained by the Pune Group.
Maj Gen Tyagi inspected ongoing training exercises, cultural activities, and administrative arrangements, praising the professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail demonstrated by officers, staff, and instructors.
Addressing the cadets, he urged them to strive for excellence, uphold discipline, and embrace leadership and commitment. “The NCC plays a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders. The proud legacy of Maharashtra Directorate as a Champion Directorate must continue,” he said, calling upon cadets and staff to maintain the tradition of outstanding performance at national-level camps.

Speaking to NCC officers and staff, Maj Gen Tyagi highlighted plans for expanding the NCC, implementing the revised syllabus, and introducing adventure activities aimed at broadening cadets’ exposure and enhancing practical learning. He emphasized the Directorate’s commitment to strengthening training standards in line with national objectives.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where Maj Gen Tyagi appreciated the Pune Group Headquarters’ efforts and encouraged them to continue setting benchmarks of excellence.
