Kalyani Nagar, 20th November 2025: Residents of Kalyani Nagar recently met Chandrashekhar Tambavekar, the new PRO at Pune Metro, to discuss persistent noise issues caused by the metro. The meeting reviewed the history of the problem, previous actions taken by the metro, and communications with the former PRO.

Tambavekar outlined that the long-term solutions under consideration are track lubrication and installation of sound barriers, and committed to consulting his team on possible solutions with feedback expected soon.

Residents have reported continued screeching and squealing sounds as trains pass through certain societies in Kalyani Nagar, along with complaints of loud and continuous announcements near the metro station.

The issue was initially flagged in March 2024 to Sonawane and his team. Metro authorities reportedly resolved the problem by June 2024 after on-site verification. However, the noise resurfaced from October 2024, prompting residents to share video recordings with the metro team.

Despite these assurances, residents reported no improvement in noise levels.

Residents of Kalyani Nagar remain hopeful that the new measures will finally resolve the long-standing noise issues.
