Traffic Diversions Announced in Sinhagad Area for Pune Grand Challenge Distance Cycling Competition 2026
Pune, 21st November 2025: Ahead of the Pune Grand Challenge Distance Cycling Competition 2026, the district administration has announced major traffic restrictions in the Sinhagad area to ensure safety and smooth traffic movement during the event. District Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Dudi has issued orders implementing traffic diversions across two phases.
According to the directive, traffic restrictions will be in force from 00:01 hrs on November 19 to 24:00 hrs on November 20, and again from 24:00 hrs on November 24 to 24:00 hrs on November 26.
During this period, Sinhagad Fort Road will remain completely closed for all vehicular movement, as there is no alternate route available for tourists visiting the fort. Traffic heading towards Khed-Shivapur via Sinhagad Ghat from the Panshet, Khanapur, Donje and Atkarwadi routes will also be halted.
Residents and commuters from these areas have been advised to use an alternate route via Donje Chowk – Khadakwasla – Kirkatwadi – Nanded City – Vadgaon Dhayri, connecting to National Highway 48 (Pune–Bengaluru Highway) to reach Khed-Shivapur.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi has appealed to citizens to follow the diversions and cooperate with the administration to ensure the successful and safe conduct of the cycling competition.
