Khed Shivapur, 21st November 2025: Senior officials from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) conducted an inspection at the Khed-Shivapur IRB Toll Plaza on Friday to assess road safety conditions and outline measures to curb accidents along the busy corridor.

The visit was led by Regional Transport Officer Archana Gaikwad, along with Deputy Regional Transport Officer Swapnil Bhosale and Assistant Regional Transport Officer Yuvraj Patil. The officers reviewed ongoing safety challenges at the toll point and instructed corrective steps aimed at reducing accident risks.

As part of the enforcement activity, the RTO team checked 250 vehicles, taking action against 151 for violations of road safety norms. The most common offences included driving without insurance, using mobile phones while driving, expired permits, missing reflectors, riding without helmets, wrong parking, lane cutting and driving in the wrong lane, Deputy RTO Bhosale informed.

In addition, 120 vehicle owners were counselled on safe driving practices and the importance of following traffic regulations.

Members of the RTO road safety team — Motor Vehicle Inspectors Krushnat Bamanikar, Atul Darade and Vasant Kalambarkar — were also part of the operation.

Officials said similar road safety drives will continue to enhance commuter safety along the Khed-Shivapur stretch.
