Pune: Leopard Sighting Triggers Alert in Aundh; Forest Department, RESQ Teams Begin Search

Aundh, 23rd November 2025: A leopard sighting near the RBI staff quarters and Sindh Society in Aundh early Sunday morning triggered an immediate alert in the area. The Pune Forest Department and RESQ Charitable Trust teams have launched a coordinated search operation to track the animal.

Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Mahadev Mohite confirmed the development, saying the teams are on the ground and equipped to capture the leopard safely. “A leopard was sighted near RBI staff quarters, Aundh, and Sindh Society, Aundh early this morning. Pune Forest Department and RESQ CT teams are on ground tracking and are fully equipped in preparedness for capture. All societies and citizens have been alerted and made aware to stay vigilant and safe,” he said.

According to officials, the animal has not been seen since around 4 am.

Authorities said further updates will be issued as the situation evolves.
