Pune Records 3°C Temperature Drop; Cold Spell to Continue
Pune, 27th November 2025: After a brief spell of warmer nights, Pune is witnessing a drop in minimum temperatures once again. Over the past 48 hours, the city’s minimum temperature has fallen by 3°C, from 17°C on November 25 to 14°C on November 27. Officials have indicated that this cooler trend is likely to persist until the end of the month.
The recent dip follows a phase when night-time temperatures in Pune had remained above normal. Weather experts had earlier suggested that the city was unlikely to experience any significant fall in minimum temperatures before November ended.
A well-marked low-pressure area over the south Andaman Sea, expected to intensify into a cyclonic circulation named Senyar around November 25–26 in the Southeast Bay of Bengal, had disrupted wind patterns across central India, including Maharashtra.
As a result, the state, which had enjoyed a steady cold spell for nearly 12 days after November 6, saw a consistent rise in minimum temperatures. In Pune, the minimum temperature on November 24 had reached 17°C, about 2–3°C above normal, with some areas recording night-time temperatures close to 20°C during this period.
The latest 3°C drop marks a shift from the earlier warm trend, bringing mild winter conditions back to the city.
