Two Lab Technicians Found Dead in Pune, Police Suspect Murder-Suicide
Pune, 1st December 2025: A tragic incident in Pune has left the city in shock after two young lab technicians were found dead within a span of 24 hours. The woman, 23, was discovered in a flat rented by her male colleague, 26, in Sangamwadi on Sunday morning, while the man’s body was found late Saturday night on railway tracks in Talegaon Dabhade.
Senior Police Inspector Anjum Bagwan of Yerawada Police Station said, “We have registered a murder case against the man following the autopsy, which confirmed that the woman was assaulted with a blunt, heavy object.” He added, “Our preliminary investigation suggests that an altercation occurred at the flat. It appears he attacked her and then may have taken his own life.”
The woman, who lived with her family in Pune, was engaged to be married. Her father serves as a police constable in Lonikand. Bagwan noted, “They were known to be good friends. On Saturday, she told her family she was going out to watch a movie with friends. When she didn’t return that night, her family raised the alarm.”
Following the missing person report, police traced her interactions and discovered that the male colleague’s phone was active near Talegaon Dabhade. Local police confirmed his body on the railway tracks. Officers then reached his rented flat in Sangamwadi, where the woman was found lifeless and later declared dead at a hospital.
