Pune, 1st December 2025: After recording a sharp drop in minimum temperature to 6 degrees Celsius on November 30, Pune experienced a slight rise in temperature on December 1. As per official data, the minimum temperature in the city increased to 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday, compared to 9.8 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
On November 30, Shivajinagar reported temperatures 4.3 degrees below normal. On December 1, Talegaon and Haveli in Pune district recorded minimum temperatures of 9.8 and 9.3 degrees Celsius respectively, both in the single-digit range.
Surprisingly, Pune remained colder than Mahabaleshwar, a popular hill station in western Maharashtra. Mahabaleshwar recorded a minimum of 11.4 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees below normal. Meanwhile, Delhi’s Safdarjung station reported the season’s lowest temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius on December 1.
Many regions across Maharashtra and northern India are experiencing a noticeable winter chill. However, weather experts expect this to be a brief spell. Minimum temperatures in Maharashtra are likely to rise around December 4–5 due to the influence of Cyclone Ditwah and moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal.
