Thar Driver Booked for Drunk Driving After Crash on Pune Airport Road
Viman Nagar, 8th December 2025: A Thar driver has been detained after he rammed into two vehicles while allegedly driving under the influence near 509 Chowk late Monday morning, police said.
According to Pune Traffic Police, the incident occurred around 11 am when the Thar (registration number MH12 WP 6186), driven by Jitendra Singh Chahal, crashed head-on into a WagonR (MH12 JU 3087) and a tempo (rickshaw) (MH12 LT 4521). All the vehicles suffered damage in the impact.
DCP (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav confirmed that the drunk driving test conducted on Chahal returned positive. “No one was seriously injured in the accident. All three vehicles have been taken into police custody for further legal action,” he stated.
