Pune: Rotary Club’s Bopodi Dialysis Centre Now Under MJPJAY, to Serve Patients Statewide
Pune, 8th December 2025: A dialysis centre established by the Rotary Club of Poona Downtown at Draupadabai Murlidhar Khedekar Hospital in Bopodi has now been registered under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jai Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY), enabling it to extend affordable treatment to underprivileged kidney patients across Maharashtra.
The facility, developed in partnership with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Duroshox Pvt Ltd, RSB Foundation, Darshana Industries and several private donors, has completed three years of service. Equipped with 10 beds and operated by CG Nephrocare, the centre has performed 7,500 dialysis sessions so far for patients from Pune.
Officials said the recent addition of a Nephro ICU, a key requirement for securing MJPJAY coverage, marks a crucial upgrade in its healthcare capabilities. The ICU cubicle was inaugurated recently in the presence of representatives from donor organisations Duroshox Pvt Ltd and Darshana Industries, along with PMC representatives, Parshuram Wadekar (RPI), Sunita Wadekar, members of the Rotary Club and hospital staff.

With the new recognition and infrastructure enhancement, the centre is set to operate in two shifts, increasing its capacity to 300–400 dialysis procedures per month. Rotary members said the development will provide significant relief to economically weaker patients battling chronic kidney conditions, ensuring they receive essential treatment closer to home and without financial strain.
The Rotary Club of Poona Downtown reiterated its commitment to strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and supporting communities in need through sustainable, long-term initiatives.
