Nagpur, 10th December 2025: A high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Nagpur has paved the way for a major boost to the Tulapur–Vadhu (Budruk) Shivsmarak circuit, with the government approving a revised project cost of ₹532.51 crore. The meeting took place at the Vidhan Bhavan on Wednesday, with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde also in attendance.

The upgraded plan includes substantial new additions—most notably a ₹250.27-crore proposal to build a bridge across the Bhima River at Apti and to widen the Apti–Vadhu (Budruk) road. These enhancements aim to provide direct and improved connectivity between the two historically significant sites.

Tulapur in Haveli taluka is revered as the site of Swaraj Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s sacrifice, whereas Vadhu (Budruk) in Shirur taluka houses his samadhi. Authorities said that the strengthened road network and new river bridge will allow smoother movement for devotees and support the growing spiritual tourism circuit.

The revised costs now elevate the project from the earlier approved estimate of ₹282.24 crore to ₹532.51 crore, enabling what officials describe as “comprehensive and culturally sensitive development”. Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi presented the detailed proposal before the committee.

Officials informed that the new road link is planned as a greenfield “Heritage Walk” corridor, designed to provide a serene and immersive experience for pilgrims. The proposed river bridge will also feature a spectator viewpoint, offering visitors scenes of murals, sculptures and installations to be developed under the broader masterplan.

The project, authorities emphasised, is not merely an infrastructure upgrade but a tribute to the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, integrating cultural, historical and emotional elements into the design.
