Pune: Senior Citizens Aged 60 and Above To Get 50% Fare Discount On PMPML Tickets From Tomorrow
Pune, 31st October 2026: Senior citizens aged 60 and above will get a 50% discount on regular bus tickets across all routes operated by the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) from November 1.
The decision, approved by the PMPML board of directors, will apply to daily tickets in addition to the existing concession on daily passes. The transport body already offers senior citizens a daily pass for Rs 35, against its regular price of Rs 70.
PMPML operates around 1,800 buses across Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) areas.
To avail themselves of the concession, passengers will have to carry valid proof of age and show it to the conductor. Accepted documents include Aadhaar card, PAN card or a PMPML senior citizen identity card. The Aadhaar card or identity document must mention the passenger’s complete date of birth, including the day, month and year.
PMPML officials said the move would make public transport more affordable for senior citizens and urged them to make greater use of the bus service.
