Pune, 13th December 2025: Senior writer and former literary conference president Dr Shripal Sabnis on Saturday said that individuals shaped by struggle develop a deeper understanding of life and are more likely to remain on the path of success. He also expressed concern that humanity is gradually being pushed to the margins due to the rise of nuclear families and growing social discord, stressing that dialogue is essential to rebuild humane values in society.

Dr Sabnis was speaking at the launch of the book Sangharsh Majha Sobati – Pune to Germany, written by Jeevan Karpe and published by MyMirror Publishing House. The event was held at Udyan Prasad Mangal Karyalaya and was attended by former Minister of State for Home Affairs Ramesh Bagwe, retired Special Inspector General of Police Chandrashekhar Daithankar, entrepreneur Vijay Dhere, legal scholar Shrikant Agaste, senior journalists Digambar Darade and Vinod Satav, along with the author Jeevan Karpe and his wife Pallavi Karpe.

Speaking about the book and the author, Dr Sabnis said Jeevan Karpe’s life reflects values such as honesty, mutual respect, love and ethical conduct. “Although he has settled in Germany for business, his attachment to India, his family and his ability to keep relationships intact highlight the humane side of his personality. His work is based on taking the best of India abroad and bringing the best from there back home. His emphasis on dialogue between people and between religions is especially relevant today,” he said.

Ramesh Bagwe said the Karpe family had raised their children through hard work and determination, instilling strong human values in them. “Struggle is part of everyone’s life. Those who face it with a positive approach and find solutions emerge successful. Jeevan Karpe’s journey from Pune to Germany makes us proud,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Daithankar said that overcoming life’s challenges with perseverance and integrity is commendable. “If one acts with honesty, gratitude and awareness, it is possible to build a strong identity as a responsible human being. Jeevan’s journey is an inspiration for many,” he added.

In his welcome address, Jeevan Karpe thanked the guests and audience, sharing memories of his journey from Pune to Germany, the challenges he faced, and the support he received from his family throughout the process.

The programme was compered by Gaurav Borade, while Bhau Karpe proposed the vote of thanks.
