Pune: Classroom Altercation Ends in Tragedy as Class 10 Student Killed in Stabbing at Pune Coaching Institute

Pune, 15th December 2025: A private coaching centre in Rajgurunagar witnessed a shocking incident when a classroom disagreement between two teenage students escalated into fatal violence, leaving a 16-year-old Class 10 student dead.

According to police officials, both the victim and the accused were enrolled at the same coaching institute. The incident occurred during class hours, when the accused allegedly attacked the victim with a knife inside the classroom. The injured student was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was triggered by an earlier dispute between the two teenagers. “Initial findings indicate there was a prior disagreement between the students. We are verifying the circumstances that led to the assault,” a senior police officer said.

Officers from the Khed police station arrived at the scene soon after the incident, secured the premises and launched an investigation. Statements of teachers, students and staff present at the time are being recorded to reconstruct the sequence of events.

As the accused is a minor, legal action is being initiated under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. Police said procedural formalities are underway to take the juvenile into custody as per law.

The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety and supervision at private coaching centres. Authorities are expected to examine existing safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
