Pune, 17th December 2025: Pune Railway Station has introduced a Digital Locker facility for passengers for the first time under the Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) initiative of Central Railway. The facility has been set up under the guidance of the Divisional Railway Manager and directions of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Pune Division.

The contract for installation, operation and maintenance of the Digital Locker facility has been awarded to Eurosteel Office Furniture Systems Pvt. Ltd. The lockers installed are Fonzel Smart Lockers, operated through Durolt Smart Locker Technology. The facility is located at Platform No. 01, Mumbai end, beside the multipurpose stall at Pune Railway Station.

A total of 24 lockers have been installed, available in three sizes—Medium (M), Large (L) and Extra Large (XL)—to meet different luggage storage requirements of passengers.

As per the proposed tariff structure, Medium size lockers (dimensions: 1.8 ft × 2 ft × 1.4 ft), consisting of four doors, are priced at ₹60 for up to six hours and ₹140 for up to 24 hours. Large size lockers (1.8 ft × 2 ft × 1.8 ft), with eleven doors, are priced at ₹140 for up to six hours and ₹170 for up to 24 hours. Extra Large lockers (1.8 ft × 2 ft × 2.8 ft), comprising eight doors, are priced at ₹170 for up to six hours and ₹270 for up to 24 hours.

The Digital Locker system is fully electronic and automated, operating without manual intervention. The installation has been designed to be compact and positioned in a manner that does not obstruct passenger movement. The locker unit is movable, allowing flexibility for future operational requirements.

For passenger assistance, a dedicated helpline number is displayed on the locker units. In case the helpline details are not visible, passengers can contact the service provider’s support team at 1800 267 8737.

The facility is intended to provide secure luggage storage for transit passengers, tourists and daily commuters, while contributing to the augmentation of Non-Fare Revenue at the station.
