Fake Number Plate School Bus Seized During Special Safety Drive in Pune
Baner, 18th December 2025: In a targeted school bus inspection drive conducted on December 16, 2025, Pune authorities uncovered a school bus operating with a counterfeit number plate, highlighting concerns over student safety and regulatory compliance.
The drive was led by Regional Transport Officer Archana Gaikwad, with Deputy RTO Swapnil Bhosale and Assistant RTO Yuvraj Patil supervising the operation. During the inspection, the Road Safety Squad–02 identified the bus in violation of transport regulations and immediately seized it. A case has been registered at Baner Police Station.
Officials said the operation was part of a broader enforcement effort aimed at ensuring that school buses meet all legal safety and registration requirements. “Regular checks like these are crucial to prevent illegal practices and to safeguard the well-being of children traveling to and from school,” a senior official stated.
The inspection team from Road Safety Squad–02 included Motor Vehicle Inspectors Smita Kole and Tripti Patil, along with Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors Kanchan Aware and Shubham Patil, who carried out the on-ground verification and enforcement.
