Pune/Mumbai, 20 December 2025: Central Railway’s Mumbai Division will operate a Mega Block on its suburban sections on Sunday, December 21, 2025, affecting the movement of several long-distance trains, including key Pune–Mumbai services such as the Deccan Queen, Sinhagad Express and Pragati Express.

As part of the block, the 5th and 6th railway lines between Thane and Kalyan stations on the Main Line will remain closed from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to facilitate engineering and maintenance works.

Impact on Pune Trains (UP Direction – Towards Mumbai):
Several Pune-origin trains heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will be diverted via the UP Fast Line between Kalyan and Thane and are expected to arrive 10 to 15 minutes late. These include:

Train No. 11010 Pune–CSMT Sinhagad Express

Train No. 12124 Pune–CSMT Deccan Queen

Train No. 12126 Pune–CSMT Pragati Express

In addition, Train No. 22226 Solapur–CSMT Vande Bharat Express, which serves passengers from the Pune–Solapur region, will also be diverted and delayed by 10 to 15 minutes.

Down Direction Trains (From Mumbai):
Some Mumbai-origin trains passing through the same section will also be affected. These include Train No. 11029 CSMT–Kolhapur Express, which is frequently used by passengers traveling via the Pune region.

According to Central Railway, diverted DOWN Mail/Express trains will run on the DOWN Fast Line between Thane and Kalyan and will be handed over 10 to 15 minutes late.

MEMU Service Changes:
Suburban connectivity linked to Pune-bound routes will also see temporary changes.

Train No. 61003 Vasai Road–Diva MEMU, departing Vasai Road at 9:50 am, will be short-terminated at Kopar.

Train No. 61004 Diva–Vasai Road MEMU will originate from Kopar at 11:45 am instead of Diva.

While the Harbour and Trans-Harbour line blocks mainly affect Navi Mumbai and Panvel sections, Central Railway stated that special local trains will operate between CSMT and Vashi during the block period to manage suburban passenger movement.

The Mega Block is scheduled only for Sunday, December 21, 2025, and normal services are expected to resume after the completion of maintenance works.
