Pune Rural Police Crack Double Murder Case, Arrest Suspect
Pune, 20th December 2025: The Pune Rural Police have solved a double murder case after a suspect, who allegedly killed one person in Jamkhed last month, committed another murder in Saswad on December 9. The accused, identified as Neeraj Goswami, has been taken into custody by the Pune Rural Police’s crime branch.
On December 9, the body of Raju Dattatreya Borade (38), a resident of Saswad in Purandar taluka, was discovered with his throat slit at a building under construction behind New Anand Wines in Saswad town.
The Saswad police and the local crime branch initially investigated the murder. CCTV footage from the area revealed two unidentified individuals approaching the scene with the victim, raising suspicion that more than one person was involved. Based on these leads, police teams were deployed across Kondhwa, Hadapsar, and other areas to track down the suspects.
During surveillance at Anand Wines, police noticed a man making a purchase and questioned him. He initially gave his name as Suraj Prakash Balram Nishad. On further interrogation, Nishad confessed that he and his accomplice, Neeraj Goswami, were responsible for Borade’s murder. The investigation revealed that the killing occurred during an argument while the two were under the influence of alcohol.
Police further discovered that Goswami had previously murdered 22-year-old Vikas Madhukar Andhare in Jamkhed last month over a financial dispute.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Sandeep Singh Gill and Additional SP Ramesh Chopde, with Crime Branch officers Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, Inspector Kumar Kadam, and Assistant Inspector Vaibhav Sonawane leading the investigation and arrests.
