Pune, 2nd January 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has issued a legal notice to Pune-based Instagram influencer Atharva Sudame for allegedly shooting and circulating a reel inside a PMPML bus without prior permission.

According to the notice issued on January 2, the influencer recorded and shared a reel on Instagram from inside one of the corporation’s buses without obtaining mandatory authorisation from the transport authority. PMPML has alleged that the video involved the unauthorised and illegal use of official PMPML property, including the corporation’s uniform, e-ticketing machine, and official badge.

The transport body further stated that the reel depicts women conductors in an objectionable and derogatory manner, which it considers an affront to their dignity and professional image.

PMPML officials said such content adversely affects the respect, reputation, mental well-being, and public standing of women employees working in public-facing roles.
In the notice, PMPML also claimed that the circulation of the reel has damaged the public image and credibility of the transport corporation, which provides essential public services. The administration noted that the act violates the corporation’s internal rules, policies, and ethical standards, and could undermine public trust in the organisation.

Additionally, the influencer has been instructed to appear at the PMPML headquarters on Shankarsheth Road in Swargate within seven days of receiving the notice and submit a written explanation. PMPML has cautioned that failure to comply or provide a satisfactory response will invite further legal action under applicable laws.
