Pune: BJP Candidates Launch Campaign PMC Ward 20 from Shankar Maharaj Math
Pune, 2nd January 2025: Ahead of the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially launched its election campaign in Ward No. 20, which covers the Bibwewadi–Shankar Maharaj Math area. The campaign began on a religious note with BJP’s official candidates offering prayers at Shankar Maharaj Math.
The candidates include Rajendra Aba Shilimkar, Tanvi Prashant Divekar, Mansi Manoj Deshpande, and Mahendra Sundecha Muttha. The campaign commenced at around 10 am, following which the candidates visited several residential areas to interact directly with voters.
As part of the door-to-door outreach, the candidates met residents in Eeshan Society, Rajdhani Society, Royal Arcade, and Gururaj Society. During these interactions, citizens raised concerns related to civic amenities such as water supply, road conditions, cleanliness, traffic management, and public safety. The candidates assured residents that these issues would be addressed through transparent and development-oriented governance.
In the evening session, campaigning continued in areas including Zhala Complex, Kalyan Bhel locality, Rajmata Complex, Kanchan Ganga, and Lighthouse Society. A large number of local residents gathered during these visits, with the candidates engaging with women, senior citizens, and youth to understand local expectations.
Speaking to residents, the candidates said their primary focus would be the overall development of Ward No. 20, improvement in basic civic facilities, and prioritising the resolution of citizens’ problems. They also appealed to voters to extend their support to BJP candidates in the upcoming PMC elections.
Local BJP office-bearers, party workers, and supporters were present in large numbers during the campaign. The outreach programme was conducted in a disciplined and peaceful manner, marked by active public participation.
