Pune RTO to Introduce Faceless Online Booking of ‘MH-12 ZB’ Fancy Vehicle Numbers from January 2
Pune, 2nd January 2026: The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune, will roll out a faceless, online-only service for reserving preferred vehicle registration numbers under the newly introduced MH-12 ZB series, starting 12 noon on January 2, officials said.
Under the new system, the entire process will be conducted digitally, and no offline applications or fee payments will be accepted at the RTO office. Applicants can access the service from home through the official portal fancy.parivahan.gov.in.
The booking process will be secured through OTP-based authentication linked to the applicant’s Aadhaar-registered mobile number, ensuring transparency and preventing misuse. Citizens will be able to browse, select, and reserve attractive or preferred numbers from the MH-12 ZB series through the portal.
According to the Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Pune, the initiative is aimed at streamlining services, eliminating the need for physical visits to the RTO, and ensuring a transparent and efficient allocation of fancy vehicle registration numbers.
Officials said the move is part of broader efforts to expand digital, citizen-friendly transport services across the state.
