Pune: ‘Sanjha Shakti’ Exercise Highlights Strong Civil–Military Coordination at Khadki Military Station
Khadki, 9th January 2026: Reinforcing joint preparedness to tackle security threats and emergencies, the Indian Army conducted a two-day Military–Civil Fusion (MCF) exercise titled ‘Sanjha Shakti’ at the Diggi Range, Khadki Military Station, on January 8 and 9, 2026. The exercise was organised under the aegis of the MG & G Area, Southern Command, and focused on enhancing coordination between the armed forces and civil authorities.
The drill brought together personnel from the Indian Army and 16 key civilian agencies, including the Maharashtra Police, Force One, and fire and emergency services. More than 350 personnel from civil agencies, in addition to Army troops, actively participated in the exercise.
Designed around realistic and evolving threat scenarios, the exercise aimed to strengthen interoperability, rapid response capabilities, and coordinated decision-making during security incidents and disaster-management situations. Multiple simulations were conducted to test standard operating procedures, communication systems, and command structures across various operational levels.

Civil agencies participating in the exercise lauded the Indian Army’s initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening civil–military cooperation in the interest of public safety and effective crisis response.
Addressing officials and participants, Lieutenant General DS Kushwah, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, MG & G Area, highlighted the Army’s role in flood relief operations, the significance of rear-area security, and ongoing welfare initiatives for veterans and Veer Naris. He stressed that seamless coordination between the Army and state agencies is essential for safeguarding the hinterland and delivering humanitarian assistance during emergencies.

Officials noted that joint exercises like ‘Sanjha Shakti’ play a vital role in sharpening operational readiness and ensuring a swift, coordinated response to emerging security challenges, further strengthening India’s integrated security framework.
