Bibvewadi, 10th January 2026: With the Pune Municipal Corporation elections approaching, campaigning has intensified in Ward No. 20, where candidates of the BJP–Republican Party of India (Athawale) alliance received an enthusiastic response during a door-to-door outreach drive on Saturday.

The candidates, along with party workers, took out a large campaign rally in the ward and directly interacted with voters by visiting households. The outreach programme witnessed strong participation from local residents, creating a lively atmosphere across the area.

BJP’s official candidates from Ward No. 20 — Mansi Manoj Deshpande, Rajendra Yashwant Shilimkar, Mahendra Manikchand (Muttha) Sundecha, and Tanvi Prashant Divekar — were present during the campaign. The candidates briefed residents about various development works carried out through the Mahayuti government so far.

They highlighted improvements in roads, drainage systems, water supply, sanitation, street lighting, gardens, social halls, and other essential civic amenities. During interactions, the candidates also assured voters that their concerns, suggestions, and expectations would be addressed through planned measures.

Residents, in turn, raised local issues such as water scarcity, traffic congestion, sanitation, and gaps in civic services. The candidates expressed their commitment to prioritising the overall development of the ward after the elections.

The campaign drive, marked by energetic slogans from party workers and active participation from citizens, reflected growing political engagement in the area. Observers noted that the increasing public response suggests a closely contested fight in Ward No. 20.

As the PMC elections draw closer, issues such as development, transparency, and citizen-centric governance remain central to the campaign. The BJP–RPI alliance is seeking to build voter confidence around these themes, a message that was clearly reflected during the door-to-door outreach in the ward.
