Pune News: NCP Highlights NH-4 Service Road, Flyovers and Missing Link Roads in Baner-Balewadi Plan
Pune, 12th January 2026: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday released a detailed development progress report for Pune Municipal Corporation Ward No. 9, along with a public-focused manifesto titled ‘Janahitnama’.
The documents were unveiled by NCP national leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, outlining past works and future development priorities for the ward.
The progress report highlights infrastructure upgrades, civic initiatives, and a clear roadmap for upcoming development projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents. Party leaders said the Janahitnama has been prepared keeping citizens’ expectations and public interest at the centre, with emphasis on practical and inclusive solutions.
A major focus of the manifesto is the development of the NH-4 service road and the creation of independent service roads to address long-standing commuting issues in the area. The plan aims to ensure safer and smoother travel while reducing congestion through planned construction and alternative routes.
Traffic planning has been identified as a key priority to make Ward 9 congestion-free. The proposed measures include coordinated traffic management, road improvements, signal synchronisation, regulated parking, and the construction of flyovers or underpasses where required. The plan also stresses the completion of critical missing links and targeted interventions at major traffic bottlenecks such as Radha Chowk, Ram Indu Park, and the Jupiter area.
Completion of missing link roads within the ward also forms an important part of the Janahitnama. Key routes mentioned include the Wakad–Balewadi Road, Pashan Link Road, and other essential internal roads needed to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity.
The event was attended by NCP’s official candidates Gayatri Medhe-Kokate, Baburao Chandere, Parvati Nimhan, and Amol Balwadkar. Addressing residents, the candidates said accelerating development works in Ward 9 and delivering on commitments made to citizens remain their top priorities.
