Pune, 19th January 2026: In a decisive move to curb noise pollution and maintain public order, the Hadapsar Police carried out a special drive against rowdy motorcyclists during the Pune Municipal Corporation election vote counting on January 16, 2026.

The incident occurred at the nivote counting center located at Sadhana Vidyalaya, Hadapsar. According to the police, several supporters accompanying election candidates were found creating a ruckus. These individuals, often referred to as ‘Bullet Rajas,’ had illegally modified the silencers of their motorcycles to produce loud, cracking sounds. They were also observed using high-decibel horns, attempting to disturb the peace and creating a tense atmosphere at the counting venue.

Immediate Action Taken

Police officers and personnel deployed for bandobast (security duty) took immediate cognizance of the situation. The team intercepted and detained the offenders on the spot.

Seizures: A total of 19 motorcycles (including Royal Enfield Bullets and Yamahas) were seized.
Penalties: Cases were filed under the Motor Vehicle Act and other relevant sections. A total fine of ₹96,700 was recovered from the violators.

Police Warning

The Pune City Police has issued a strict appeal to the youth, warning them against making illegal modifications to vehicles, using pressure horns, or engaging in any activities that disrupt public peace.

The Team

The operation was executed under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil, DCP (Zone 6) Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, ACP (Hadapsar Division) Atulkumar Navgire, and Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Mogale. The investigation team was led by PSI Hasan Mulani and Satyavan Gend, supported by a team of constables including Dipak Kambale, Bhausaheb Khatke, Nilesh Kirve, Bapu Lonkar, Bhagwan Hambarde, Anirudh Sonawane, Ajit Madane, Tukaram Zunjar, Mahesh Chavan, Kundalik Keskar, Mahavor Londhe, Akash Dhawde, Vijay Kanekar and Dhiraj Shelar.
