Pune: High-Speed Train Trials on Daund-Kashti Line on Jan 25
Pune, 21st Jan 2026: Pune Division of Central Railway will conduct an Engine Trial followed by a mandatory inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) on the newly constructed rail stretch between Daund and Kashti. The CRS inspection is scheduled for January 25, 2026.
According to railway officials, high-speed trial runs will be carried out on the Daund-Kashti section between 08:15 hrs and 16:00 hrs on the day of inspection. These trials are part of the standard safety and technical checks required before commissioning a new railway section.
In view of the high-speed movements, Pune Division has issued an appeal to residents of villages located along the route, farmers, cattle owners, road users, and local bodies including Gram Panchayats and Sarpanchs to ensure that the railway track and surrounding areas remain completely free from any obstruction during the trial period.
The public has been strictly advised not to trespass on or near the railway tracks, not to allow cattle to stray onto the tracks, to avoid crossing the railway line at unauthorized locations, and to maintain a safe distance from the tracks throughout the day.
Railway authorities have stated that public awareness regarding the high-speed trials is being disseminated through newspapers and local communication channels to ensure that residents and local representatives are informed well in advance.
The Daund-Kashti section falls under the Pune Division of Central Railway and forms part of ongoing railway infrastructure development works in the region.
