Bomb Threat to IndiGo Delhi–Pune Flight, Aircraft Cleared After Security Checks at Pune Airport

Viman Nagar, 22nd January 2026: An IndiGo flight operating from Delhi to Pune received a bomb threat upon its arrival at Pune Airport on Thursday night, triggering heightened security measures. After a thorough inspection by security agencies, no suspicious material was found and the aircraft was cleared for normal operations.

According to airport officials, IndiGo flight 6E 2608, scheduled to land at 8.40 pm, touched down at 9.24 pm and was parked at Bay No. 3 at 9.27 pm. Soon after, Air Traffic Control informed Apron Control about the bomb threat information, following which the aircraft was immediately shifted to the isolation bay as per standard operating procedures.

All concerned agencies were alerted, and the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was convened without delay. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad conducted an extensive security check of the aircraft.

Confirming the development, Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke said, “All laid-down security protocols were strictly followed. The aircraft was taken to the isolation bay and thoroughly checked by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. No suspicious or adverse findings were detected, and the aircraft was subsequently cleared.”

He added that the situation was managed in a coordinated and timely manner, ensuring passenger safety and minimal disruption to airport operations.

Airport authorities confirmed that there was no further incident, and normal operations continued at Pune Airport after the completion of the security procedures.
