Pune, 30th January 2026: Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL), one of India’s leading real estate developers, on Tuesday announced the acquisition of an approximately 8.5-acre land parcel in Mahalunge, a fast-growing micro-market in western Pune.

The land has been acquired through an outright purchase and will be developed primarily as a group housing project. The proposed development is expected to offer a total developable potential of about 2.1 million square feet, with an estimated revenue potential of nearly ₹2,000 crore.

The parcel is located in the Mahalunge–Maan–Nande belt and forms part of the Mahalunge–Hinjewadi micro-market. It lies close to the upcoming Pune Inner Ring Road and along the rapidly expanding Hinjewadi–Balewadi corridor, one of the city’s key growth zones. The area benefits from strong social infrastructure, including premier educational institutions such as Delhi Public School, Mahindra International School, and the Symbiosis Centre for Management. It also offers easy access to Baner–Balewadi and Hinjewadi, two major IT and BFSI hubs in Pune.

Commenting on the acquisition, Gaurav Pandey, Managing Director and CEO of Godrej Properties, said Pune continues to be a strategic focus for the company.

“Pune is one of India’s most vibrant urban centres, driven by robust infrastructure development and a thriving commercial ecosystem. Mahalunge, with its strong connectivity and well-planned social environment, reflects the city’s growth story and offers customers an ideal blend of convenience and quality living,” Pandey said.

He added that the deal fits into the company’s broader expansion strategy. “This acquisition is an important step in strengthening our presence in Pune and in high-potential micro-markets across leading Indian cities. We aim to deliver thoughtfully designed residential spaces that create long-term value for residents and meet evolving customer aspirations,” Pandey said.

Godrej Properties has been steadily expanding its footprint in Pune, with multiple projects across the city, as demand for quality housing continues to grow on the back of strong IT-led employment and infrastructure upgrades.
