Pune, 13th February 2026: Prof. Dr. Medha Vishram Kulkarni, Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra, met Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and urged him to expedite compassionate government employment for the daughter of a man killed in the Pahalgam terror attack.

In a letter, Kulkarni drew the minister’s attention to a request from Pragati Santosh Jagdale, widow of Santosh Jagdale, who died in the attack. She stated that the bereaved family had been assured support by senior state leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and the late Ajit Pawar, and that their daughter Asawari Jagdale also affected by the incident, was promised a government job on compassionate grounds.

Kulkarni said Asawari is academically qualified, holding an MBA in Human Resources from Bharati Vidyapeeth University and a BSc in Computer Science, and was assured a Class-II administrative officer post or a suitable position in municipal or state government services, subject to eligibility. However, she pointed out that more than nine months have passed without any formal communication or progress from authorities, causing financial hardship and emotional distress to the family.

She urged the Union minister to facilitate timely action, stating that granting employment would both secure the family’s livelihood and uphold assurances made to victims of terrorism.
