Pune, 14th February 2026: In a major relief to thousands of aspirants, the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has allowed candidates to submit their application forms without mandatory Aadhaar authentication.

Several students registering for various professional entrance examinations had reported technical issues during the verification process. Problems such as non-receipt of OTPs and data mismatches on the portal during Aadhaar and APAAR ID authentication prevented many from completing their applications.

To enhance transparency, Aadhaar and APAAR verification had been introduced for CET 2026 registrations. However, persistent technical glitches left many students anxious about missing the deadline. Taking note of the issue, State CET Cell Commissioner Dilip Sardesai has decided to relax the Aadhaar authentication requirement.

From today, students facing technical difficulties can use the alternative option available on the registration portal to complete and submit their forms without Aadhaar verification. Those who are able to authenticate their Aadhaar can continue with the regular process.

The CET Cell has urged students to complete their registration within the stipulated timeframe and not to believe rumours. Officials clarified that no candidate should miss the opportunity to appear for the examination due to technical reasons.

The Cell also reiterated that appearing for the CET is mandatory for students seeking admission to professional courses. Admission cannot be secured without taking the entrance examination. After completing registration, candidates must appear for the CET. Once the results are declared, they are required to apply separately for admission, and final selection will be based strictly on merit.

Students have been advised to complete their CET registration on time to avoid last-minute complications.
