Pune, 30th October 2026: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has cancelled all examinations scheduled for Saturday, October 31, across Pune, Ahilyanagar and Nashik districts, citing possible traffic disruptions in Nashik due to the President of India’s visit and the flag-hoisting ceremony related to the Simhastha Kumbh Mela.

The university conducts examinations for various courses at affiliated colleges across the three districts through its Examination Department. Several examinations were scheduled to take place on October 31. However, anticipating traffic congestion and restrictions in Nashik due to the high-profile visit, the university decided to postpone all examinations scheduled for the day.

The Nashik Municipal Commissioner had informed the university that the President’s visit and the Simhastha Kumbh Mela flag-hoisting ceremony could significantly affect traffic movement in the city.

Following this communication, the university issued a circular announcing the cancellation of all examinations scheduled for October 31.

Dr Rajendra Talware, Director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation, confirmed that all the cancelled examinations will now be conducted on November 11 at the same timings mentioned in the original examination timetable.

The revised decision was communicated through a circular issued by the university on Friday evening, just a day before the scheduled examinations, leaving students with limited time to adjust their plans.
