Pune Joint Registrar Deregisters Gold Field Plaza Co-op Society Over Illegal Formation and Misrepresentation
Pune, 26th February 2026: The Divisional Joint Registrar (DJR) Co-operative Society Appeal, Pune, has ordered the deregistration of the prominent Gold Field Plaza Premises Co-operative Housing Society Ltd. The ruling, passed in February 2026, penalizes the society for illegal formation, misrepresentation, and violating a court injunction.
Located at 45 B, Sassoon Road, opposite Wadia College, the commercial society comprises 50 shops and 34 offices.
The deregistration order follows a complainst filed in July 2024 by the scheme’s landowner, Krishnagopal Nangpal, represented by Advocate Sandeep Malik. The application was filed under Section 21(A) of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960.
According to the complaint, the promoter/builder of the scheme, M/s. Samant Buildcon Company Pvt. Ltd., and its promoter, Madan Tarachand Samant, colluded with society members to illegally register the society. The authority noted that the landowner had previously obtained an injunction from the Civil Court Senior Division, Pune, which legally restrained the creation of any third-party interests on the property.
Despite this active restraining order, the builder and members proceeded with the society’s formation by deliberately concealing the civil court’s injunction from the Deputy Registrar Pune City (2).
Furthermore, the DJR noted a severe compliance violation regarding the builder’s corporate status. The authority held that M/s. Samant Buildcon Company Pvt. Ltd. had already been struck off by the Registrar of Companies (ROC) in 2021. Despite lacking legal corporate standing, the promoter submitted false undertakings and declarations on various official forms to secure the society’s registration.
Following a nearly two-year legal battle, the authority ruled in favor of the landowner, concluding that the registration was obtained through deceit and ordering the immediate deregistration of the society.
