Pune, 9th March 2026: Pune and its surrounding regions experienced a significant rise in temperatures on Monday, March 9, 2026, with the Lohegaon station recording a maximum of 39.0°C.
According to the local forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Pune and its neighbourhood, while the city currently enjoys mainly clear skies, a transition toward partly cloudy conditions during the afternoons and evenings is expected starting mid-week.
Current Observations (March 9, 2026)
On Monday, several areas in the Pune district recorded high daytime temperatures, making for a hot afternoon. The highest temperature in the city was recorded at Lohgaon (39.0°C), followed closely by Dudulgaon (38.4°C). Central Pune at Shivajinagar and the NDA station both recorded 37.7°C.

March 11–15: The skies will remain mainly clear during the day but are predicted to become partly cloudy towards the afternoon or evening. Maximum temperatures are expected to see a slight gradual decrease, reaching approximately 35°C by Sunday, March 15.

While Pune remains hot, the Vidarbha region is bracing for even more intense heat. The IMD has issued a Heat Wave alert for Akola, Amravati, and Wardha for the next 48 to 72 hours, with temperatures in those districts expected to reach or exceed 41°C.
