Free POSH Awareness Sessions Conducted in Pune under “Tarini” Initiative
Pune, 10th march 2026: Opash Socio Commercial Pvt. Ltd., a Pune-based company, launched its social initiative “Tarini” on 8 March 2020 with the objective of guiding women on where and how to file complaints against sexual harassment at the workplace and spreading awareness about their legal rights. Over the last 5 years the Tarini Helpline has received more than 1500 calls from beneficiaries. Approx. 80% of these calls are related to POSH while remaining 20% are related to other concerns.
Marking International Women’s Day 2026, the company conducted a series of free guidance and awareness training sessions on the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act from 2 March to 7 March 2026. These sessions were organized across various sectors in Pune and were conducted in 8 different organizations. These sessions were conducted by Opash team members Ameya Joshi, Aditi Deshpande and Radhika Kulkarni.
The outreach covered organizations such as Goodwill India, Mhalsakant Vidyalaya, Akurdi, State Transport Corporation ; Panchayat Samiti Rajgurunagar Office, Women working as domestic help, Anaganwadi teachers, Bachat Gat from Karvenagar Vasti, Janata Sahakari Bank, Vanchit Vikas Foundation,as well as sanitation workers from Swacha Foundation, working under the Pune Municipal Corporation.
Between 2 March and 7 March 2026, around 500 women and men from Pune participated in and benefited from these awareness sessions.
