PCMC: SIT to Probe Hinjawadi IT Job Scam; Assets Worth Rs 1.27 Crore Seized
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 10th March 2026: The Government of Maharashtra has ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe an alleged job scam targeting engineering graduates in Hinjawadi IT Park. The directive was issued by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis after the matter was raised in the state assembly by MLA Shankar Jagtap.
The case centres on Flynaut SaaS Pvt. Ltd., which is accused of cheating hundreds of job-seeking engineering graduates by promising lucrative IT jobs and collecting money under the guise of training and recruitment.
According to information presented in the Assembly through a starred question (No. 27868), the company allegedly approached fresh engineering graduates through several consultancies in August 2025.
Candidates were reportedly promised high annual salary packages and asked to deposit amounts ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh for training and other pre-employment procedures.
After collecting the money, the company allegedly assigned online work to the candidates for a few months but failed to pay any salaries. Later, several applicants were informed that they had not cleared eligibility tests or interviews, effectively denying them employment.
Following complaints from the affected graduates, cases were registered at the Hinjawadi Police Station against the main accused, Upesh Ranjit Patil, and others associated with the company.
Responding to the issue in the Assembly, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that two FIRs have been registered in connection with the case. He directed that a Special Investigation Team be formed under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the scam.
Authorities have also initiated steps to recover money allegedly collected from the victims. Investigators have so far identified 357 victims, with the total amount involved in the fraud estimated at ₹6.49 crore.
As part of the crackdown, assets worth ₹1.27 crore belonging to the company’s founder and employees have been seized. This includes movable assets valued at approximately ₹48.25 lakh and immovable property worth around ₹79 lakh.
Officials said the seized assets were allegedly purchased using money obtained through the scam. The SIT will now pursue legal procedures to recover the funds and return them to the affected students.
MLA Shankar Jagtap described the alleged fraud targeting young IT professionals as a serious issue affecting the future of many graduates. He called for strict action against those responsible.
Jagtap also expressed hope that the formation of the SIT will help uncover the full extent of the scam and ensure justice and compensation for the affected students.
