Pune Ganeshotsav 2026: ‘Shree Ganesha Aarogyacha’ Campaign to Conduct Health Camps Across Pune District
Pune, 15th September 2026: Community health camps will be organised across Pune district from September 14 to 25 under the ‘Shree Ganesha Aarogyacha’ campaign, an initiative aimed at promoting better health among citizens during the Ganeshotsav period.
The campaign is being implemented across Maharashtra under the concept envisioned by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has directed the concerned departments to organise community health camps during the 12-day campaign.
The initiative is being conducted in coordination with the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Cell, Charitable Hospitals Assistance Cell and the Public Health Department. Citizens attending the camps will have access to various health services, including general health check-ups, blood tests, ECG examinations, other diagnostic and treatment-related tests, as well as free medicines.
Several government departments and agencies have been assigned responsibilities for the implementation of the campaign. These include the Government Medical College, Charity Commissioner’s Office, municipal administration, District Surgeon, District Health Officer and officials associated with the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana.
The health camps will be organised with the support of government agencies, charitable organisations, social organisations, government and private medical colleges and hospitals across the district.
Collector Dudi has directed the authorities to ensure adequate availability of medical officers, paramedical staff, diagnostic equipment and medicines at the camps so that citizens can receive the required services without difficulty.
According to Rameshwar Naik, Head of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospitals Assistance Cell, Maharashtra, the campaign has set a target of conducting health check-ups for more than 20 lakh citizens across the state this year.
The initiative is being conducted for the second consecutive year, with the participation of around 10,000 public Ganesh mandals, government and semi-government agencies, local self-government bodies, social organisations and donors.
The campaign seeks to use the large public participation during Ganeshotsav to spread awareness about preventive healthcare and provide accessible health services to citizens.
