Pune, 18th March 2026: Election authorities on Tuesday reviewed preparedness across departments in a virtual meeting chaired by Deputy District Election Officer Minal Kalaskar ahead of the scheduled by poll elections for the Baramati Assembly constituency.

The meeting focused on assessing responsibilities assigned to various departments for conducting the elections. The officials were directed to ensure that the polling process is conducted in a smooth, transparent and rule-bound manner. Instructions were issued regarding planning, manpower deployment, distribution of election material, training programmes and strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.

Key aspects such as readiness of polling stations, inspection of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units, functioning of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) and media cells, and training of polling staff were also reviewed. Emphasis was laid on strengthening voter awareness drives under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
