Pune: Election Notification Issued for Baramati Assembly Constituency; Polling Scheduled for April 23

Baramati, 30th March 2026: The formal process for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election in the 201-Baramati constituency has officially commenced. Following the “Conduct of Election Rules, 1961,” Returning Officer Uttam Dighe issued a public notice today outlining the critical deadlines and schedule for the electoral proceedings.

The seat became vacant after the demise of NCP leader Ajit Pawar in January this year.

According to the official notification, candidates or their proposers can now obtain and deliver nomination papers to the Returning Officer or the Assistant Returning Officer, Rawade Swapnil Appasaheb.

Submissions are being accepted at the Tehsil Office, located in the New Administrative Building, Baramati, between 11:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. on any working day. The final deadline for filing nominations is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The election authority has established a strict timeline for the validation of candidates:
Scrutiny of Nominations: The papers will be scrutinized on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, starting at 11:00 A.M. at the Tahsil Office.
Withdrawal of Candidature: Candidates wishing to withdraw from the race must submit their notice by 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

In the event of a contested election, the electorate will head to the polls on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Voting will be conducted between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. across the constituency.

The administration has urged all prospective candidates to adhere strictly to the timings and location specified in the Form 1 notice to ensure a smooth filing process.
