RPF Nagpur Reports 2,843 Cases, 2,607 Arrests in Early 2026; Rs 16 Lakh Fines Collected
Nagpur, 08th April 2026: The Security Branch of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Nagpur Division of Central Railway, has reported registering 2,843 cases and arresting 2,607 offenders during the first quarter of 2026, as part of its enforcement drive across railway premises.
According to official data released up to March 2026, these actions led to the collection of fines amounting to ₹16.05 lakh. The division had recorded over ₹1.05 crore in fines during the calendar year 2025.
In cases related to railway property, the RPF acted under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, recovering stolen assets worth ₹5.82 lakh so far in 2026 against reported thefts valued at ₹6.72 lakh.
The division also carried out targeted operations to address specific offences. Under Operation Narcos, seven cases were registered involving narcotics, with seizures valued at ₹12.40 lakh. Operation Satark resulted in 10 cases linked to illegal liquor and tobacco, with confiscated material worth ₹3.43 lakh.
Passenger assistance measures were undertaken through Operation Amanat, under which 72 lost items valued at over ₹20.17 lakh were traced and returned to passengers.
In addition, the RPF continued its child protection efforts through Operation Nanhe Farishte. A total of 67 children, including 51 boys and 16 girls, were rescued during the same period and handed over for further care and rehabilitation as per procedures.
The figures reflect enforcement and assistance activities carried out by the RPF Nagpur Division across its jurisdiction during the first three months of 2026.
