3rd Dr. P. A. Inamdar & Mrs. Abeda Inamdar District Level Sports Excellence Award 2025–2026 Concluded with Great Enthusiasm
Pune, April 10, 2026: In a strong showcase of youth achievement across sports, academics and competitive career pathways, the 3rd Dr. P. A. Inamdar & Mrs. Abeda Inamdar District Level Sports Excellence Award 2025–2026 was held with great enthusiasm at Azam Campus on Friday.
The programme recognised 20 district-level sportspersons, including 10 boys and 10 girls, for their outstanding performances across disciplines such as cricket, football, archery, skating, kabaddi, softball, hockey, para badminton, athletics, boxing, weightlifting and para athletics. The event was graced by Mrs. Abeda P. Inamdar, President of M.C.E. Society, as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Inamdar said, “Sport builds discipline, resilience and confidence. When young individuals are recognised early, they begin to believe in their own potential. Our responsibility as institutions is to create opportunities where students can excel not only in sports, but also in academics and public service.”
What set the event apart was its broader focus beyond sports recognition. Along with honouring athletes, five students who successfully cleared competitive examinations were felicitated, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic and career excellence.
A key highlight of the programme was the recognition of candidates trained through the Police Training Center jointly organised by M.C.E. Society’s Azam Sports Academy and Disha Sports and Career Academy. The initiative has enabled students to pursue careers in government and uniformed services.

Among those acknowledged were Nanaso Ghatdge, selected as Police Sub-Inspector; Omkar Fate, who qualified as Charity Inspector and Police Sub-Inspector; Piyush Supekar, selected as Sales Tax Inspector and Assistant Conservator of Forest; and Pooja Akhade and Tejas Thorat, who joined the police force in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The Best Sports Teacher Award was presented to Majid Sayyed, Sports Teacher of Anglo Urdu Boys High School, in recognition of his contribution to nurturing young talent and promoting sportsmanship.
The programme was attended by Prof. Irfan Shaikh, Secretary of M.C.E. Society; Mohammed Arif Choudhary, Chairman of Azam Sports Academy; academy members Afzal Khan and Sabir Shaikh; and Dattatray Sarde, Director of Disha Career Academy. The introductory address was delivered by Dr. Gulzar Shaikh, Director of Azam Sports Academy. The event was compered by Dilshad Sayyed and Amjad Pathan.
Jointly organised by M.C.E. Society’s Azam Sports Academy and Disha Sports and Career Academy, the event reflected a strong effort to build an ecosystem where young individuals are encouraged to pursue excellence across sports, education and public service.
